Films & Documentaries about Wine

Couch-I-Like-This-Grape

It’s weird outside. Just watch movies.

The weather across the U.S. has been unseasonal to say the least. When it’s less than perfect outside take some time and simply stop. Just stop what you’re doing, stop your mind from racing and make personal time getting lost with a glass of wine and one of these wine-related films/documentaries below. If wine makes you happy, then these films about wine will be orgasmic.

SOMM – Documentary. Four sommeliers attempt to pass the prestigious Master Sommelier exam, a test with one of the lowest pass rates in the world.

You Will Be My Son – Film. It’s in French and has subtitles. A story that focuses on the problematic relationship between the owner of a prestigious vineyard in Saint Emilion and his son, Martin. Beautiful scenes from Bordeaux.

A Year In Burgundy – Documentary. The film follows seven wine-making families in the Burgundy region of France through the course of a full year, and delves into the cultural and creative process of making wine.

Red Obsession – Documentary (that we’re obsessed with). Narrated by Russell Crowe. The great chateaux of Bordeaux struggle to accommodate the voracious appetite for their rare, expensive wines, which have become a powerful status symbol in booming China.

Cement Suitcase – Film. Comedy about the best wine salesman in the Yakima Valley, WA who hates his life. His girlfriend is cheating on him, and he doesn’t even have the self-respect to tell her that he knows. When he meets the “other guy”, who turns out to be a terrific person, he decides it’s time to let go of some baggage.

Let us know what you were drinking while watching these! Cheers.
