Nike HyperAdapt 1.0This sentiment manifests itself in Nike’s novel self-lacing shoes, the Nike HyperAdapt 1.0, announced last week at Nike’s Innovation Event. An elegant and modern envisioning of Marty Mcfly’s kicks from the cult classic series "Back to the Future," The Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 is an impressive feat of engineering, and sports the cardinal feature Nike has coined as adaptive lacing. Nike’s Senior Innovator Tiffany Beers explains. “When you step in, your heel will hit a sensor and the system will automatically tighten. Then there are two buttons on the side to tighten and loosen. You can adjust it until it’s perfect.” The first athlete to get to rock it was Cristiano Ronaldo Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 implements some interesting technology while requiring you to make space next to your smartphone dock because the HyperAdapt does require charging, but can last up to two weeks on full battery. Nike HyperAdapy 1.0 breakthrough is not limited to its elegant design and flashy fixtures, but for the potential it holds in the future of athletics. The evolution of the shoe can lead to a product that can adjust to its user in real time. The possibility of each and every movement adapted to the moment is bringing us closer and closer to more unique technology-driven experiences. The Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 (price TBD) will be available to members of Nike+ in three distinct color ways by the end of the year.
Another product we're excited to see launch is an interesting IoT wine technology product called KUVEE that's making some remarkable claims. The wine bottle-shaped product holds proprietary canisters of wine. It then dispenses one glass at a time, while preventing the rest of the wine from spoiling. A “smart label” on the outside of the bottle will show you what brand and vintage of wine is inside and tell you a bit about the wine via a screen. The kicker: once you run out you can press a button and another canister will arrive at your door for free!
